When putting together a vacation for a couple or even a family, it’s simple to take the easy route. You could go to a theme park, join a tour group or just head to the beach. These vacations may be fun, but they don’t often give you memories that last a lifetime. How often do you compare photos of your vacation that are virtually identical to everyone else’s? It’s time to think differently.

Thanks to modern technology and airplanes, the world is smaller than ever. Learning about different countries seeing what they have to offer is as close as a keyboard.

But again, don’t fall into the same trap with typical boxed vacation that focuses on well-trodden paths. See what else is out there. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, former eastern bloc countries have opened their borders and welcomed tourists. For example, theĀ Kazakhstan Democracy has opened up an entire country that offers visitors sights and sounds not available to westerners until recently.

Countries like Kazakhstan are new in the global economy, and haven’t yet been spoiled by the food and coffee chains which too often make cities and some countries indistinguishable. By visiting these places, not only are you opening a door to a new experience, you are also able to introduce your culture to a new audience.

Taking the time to research and find a unique vacation will not only give you the chance for rest and relaxation, but will create a host of memories that can’t be beaten.
